Hello Listers

The AGCI (pronounced agsee) is an excellent tool as it also tells
you where the original record may be found. The CD or fiche
identifies a name and or place etc on the Index and the refs.
lead you to the source.

I found a reference to a relative in the AGCI at SAG in Sydney
and the Primary Record it led me to was a whole file of
amazingly useful information.

Worth following up.
