Hello Frances,

I have an explanation on the 15 children, as opposed to 8 - There were
several children that died as infants - Hart/Artie (1880-1883), Amelia
(1882-1882), Henry George (1884-1885), Unnamed (1889-1889) and Amy
(1901-1901) all died when they were all under the age of 3, so were not
mentioned in the obituary for Henry. Of the other children, I have the
following ten:
William (1878-1971)
Ada (1883-1870) - must be the Mrs S Burgess? Strange she married a Burgess -
her mothers maiden name! She probably married a relation! I'll check the
Burgess book for that later.
Harty John (1884-1956) - the HJ mentioned
Ambrose (1886-1952)
Henry (Harry or Pat) (1888-1937/38)
Sarah (1890-1969) - Mrs PJ (Peter John) Marshall
Phoebe (1892-1925) - Mrs EE (Ernest Edward) Marshall
John (Jack) (1894-1957)
George (1896-1966)
Albert (1899-1977)

The two not mentioned were John and George - I know John married Jane
Elizabeth Stevens and George married Dulcie Stevens, so I thought it may be
something to do with that family - but then I saw that Ambrose married their
sister, Alice Stevens, so it can't be that. I guess there must have been
some kind of falling out though, seeing as they weren't mentioned. They,
like most of the other children, died in Ulverstone, so it is strange to see
they weren't in the obit.

Pallbearers TG & LJ Marshall were Sarah & Peter John Marshall's sons
Terrence George (Teddy) and Laurence John (Jack). They were grandchildren,
not nephews. DG & LA Johnson I'm not sure of yet, as I can't find my book on
the Burgess family at the moment, which has that info. But they could have
been grandchildren also, seeing as the Marshall's were.

The witnesses for the wedding would have been Sarah's siblings, but again,
I'll have to find that book.

Thankyou so much for finding that Frances. I will have to go have a look at
the library!

Regards,
