Hi Listers,
Nice to be back after some months away.
I'm trying to find out more information about two deaths and hope someone can throw some light on them
1) This appeared in the 'Death' notices in the Mercury, September 23, 1862:
" EDMONDS, August 14 at Launceston, Mrs Chas. EDMONDS, formally of Hobart Town, leaving two children unprovided for."
I would like to find out if there are any undertaker's records available to identify a burial and any newspaper records of who placed the advert . What is curious is that there's no record of her death in the indexes and I've search the microfilm version for July, August, September and October 1862. I think she could be my g,g,grandmother.
2) Lavinia ANDREWS nee EDMUNDS born 1852 Hobart and married William ANDREWS at GEORGETOWN 1869. It was said that Lavinia died in Sydney in 1937, yet there is no record of her death in the indexes nor at Rookwood where she would normally have been buried. It is possible she returned to Tasmania and died there in 1937. Lavinia was my g, grand aunt and possibly the daughter of Mrs Chas EDMONDS above
I would be grateful for any help
Ray Edmunds
