I haven't managed to find a link between Francis and Edward Gary but if
anyone does I will be most interested to hear. Will Edward being born in
Quebec and Francis a generation later in Derby it's not easy! There may not
be one. It looks to me as though the Abbotts had been in Quebec for some
time before Edward's birth. The name Compton is probably from there too, a
place name. Or any other information about the families would be welcome.
