Hello Heather,
I totally agree with your comments. I grew up in Queenstown and return every year to visit relatives still living there.
The Galley Museum Volunteers would be delighted to receive the photo to add it to their collection. They may even be able to identify the photo by asking the elderly residents there.
Regards
Gwen

Hello Shirley.
The Galley Museum http://www.queenstowntasmania.com/Galley_Museum_Page.php
at Queenstown may be able to help you. They have an extensive collection of
early Queenstown and West Coast photos, and a good knowledge of local events
and people. What were the names of your relatives in the area in the
1890's? I had ROBERTSON and HENRY relatives there at that time.

> Amongst some old Tasmanian photos ("snaps"), I have one of a group which
we think would be a mining party,as there is a windlass and mining bucket in
the background, and scafflolding. Could anyone advise where I might send a
copy of this for historical records.I shouldn't think anyone would be able
to guess at a location. I had a relative killed at Queen Mine, Mt. Lyall in
the 1890's, so the photo may include him. Thanks. Shirley (Queensland)
