That is a most enlightening piece of history. My family moved there after
my grandfather lost his business following the depression. He got into Real
Estate - but I don't know whether he was a Licensed Real Estate Agent -
guess there are ways of finding out - never thought about it. He was also
a lay preacher with the Methodist Church, and conducted services at the
Methodist Church in Sassafras when the circuit Minister was not there. My
mother played the organ for the church services. She worked in the post
office.
Just a fortnight ago we placed a plaque on a rock in the grounds of Ross
Gallery, the old Sassafras Methodist Church, where my parents were
married. We have also, with the owner's permission, planted 2 blue
Hydrangeas in the grounds. Every Christmas my mum would bring a bunch of
these for our Christmas table. Sorry - I'm rabbiting on!
That research project appears far more polished than 'rough'. I do hope it
emerges in true glory one day.
