G'day Folks,

One of our listers asked off-list what I thought of an idea and whether I
might be able to add it to our web site.

I think her idea is great and thought we'd float it here for some more
comment ...

Similar to our Surnames of Interest web page, we could have a "Subject" of
Interest web page for people researching specific subjects. Of course
subjects could be people but it could also include things like "Geelong
Irish", "Geelong Swiss", "Railways etc.", "Point Henry ships", of course the
list could go on and on. But it would help people doing specific research
where if others were aware, they could help out. It might also include
specific places, cemeteries, etc. etc. etc.

The thoughts I have on how it could work ...

The "Research of Interest" web page(s) could be identical to the "Surnames
of Interest" web page(s) - would include Submitter details, Subject,
Location, Year(s). Obviously we want things that have SOMETHING to do with
Geelong & District!! <vbg> If it was a person being researched, I'd be
inclined to put it on the Research of Interest as well as the Surnames of
Interest but I'd be inclined to add a comment that indicates this is
research rather than family history ???

Some of the things that might go on the list ....... "my" cemeteries of
interest, Dianne's cemeteries of interest (do we have a one track mind or
what?), I'd probably also add Spray Farm, IBBOTSON family, etc. etc.

In fact the more I think about it, the better I think Terri's idea is!!!
Well done Terri! Oh oh - my list of Research of Interest as the seconds
tick by!! Is it any wonder I think it's a great idea ???

So - give me your thoughts on what, how etc.

And have a look at the other idea I've been tossing around in the next
message.
