single and, later, married woman in Geelong, Vic., and
Brisbane, Qld, 1880-1889 (2 vols). Euphemia Ellen Kemp
(nee Simson): autograph album 1870-1884 with additions by
her daughter Alice Kemp 1905-1910 (1 vol.). Alison
Euphemia Grant Lipp: research material on family history
of descendants of William Borrodaile Wilson compiled
1980s (18 files).
HISTORICAL CONTEXT Euphemia Ellen was one of the seven children of the Rev.
Charles Simson (d.1873) and Mary Ann Wilson (d.1866).
After Simson retired from the Presbyterian Ministry in
Tasmania, the family settled first at Roseneath on the
Glenelg River, and later at Geelong. In 1882 Euphemia
Ellen married Joseph Kemp, a merchant and one time
secretary of the Stock Exchange of Melbourne.
