G'day Glenys,
I thought I'd just try out our Consolidated Book Index for your QUICK family
... these are the entries ...
Index Entry X1 Book Title X2 Page Numbers
QUICK, J Mrs // The History of Winchelsea Shire - Vol 1 and 2 // 70
QUICK, J W // The History of Winchelsea Shire - Vol 1 and 2 // 63
QUICK, J W W // The History of Winchelsea Shire - Vol 1 and 2 // 91,106
Quick, John Dr // Historic Ocean Grove - A Walking Tour : Vols 1-4 //
[Vol 1] 25
I don't have access to the History of Winchelsea Shire - perhaps someone
else can help with those entries, particularly as you are from the UK and
may not be able to access these books! The entry in Historic Ocean Grove is
as follows ...
105 The Parade, Ocean Grove - "Vacant land at numbers 103 and 105 The Parade
were owned for many years by a Dr. John QUICK from Bendigo. After he passed
away, the property transferred to Mr. John BAGLIN and his wife Mary." The
time period for this reference - sometime before 1928 and after 1888.
Obviously this may or may not have any connection to the family you're
researching - just a bit of background, land in Ocean Grove was sold to
people from all over Victoria, very few of whom ever lived there or even
visited there! With the years you mentioned, this is unlikely to be your
family, but you never know!
Just had a look at the Victorian Pioneer Index (BDMs) and found the
following ...

Geelong in the 1850,s from England. I have very little information apart
from the fact that while they were there they had a daughter Mary Ann Dixon
Quick. Can anyone help me with finding out where they lived when they were
there about obtaining birth certificates aqnd getting to know information
about the boat they arrived on? Any inforrmation would be very useful. Best
