I am seeking information on family of Donald McDonald b1814 Isle of
Skye and Margaret McDonald [Matheson]who emigrated on the "Charles" in
1853 landing in Melbourne with sons Angus b1846,John b1849 and Hugh
b1851,they had made their way to Geelong by 1855 where daughter
Isabella was born.Another daughter Mary was born in 1857 and Donald
died in 1860 in Chilwell. My grandfather Angus married Jessie Buchanan
in 1869 and had 9 children in the Geelong area and later at Barunah
Plains where he worked as a Stockman.Jessie died in 1885 and in 1900
he married Priscilla Griffin and had 2 further children Victor b1903
at Camperdown[my father] and Mary b1906.At this time Angus was working
at Leslie Manor but later returned to Barunah Plains.I would be very
grateful for any information regarding any other descendants of Donald
or of any of his siblings,at least one of whom [Neil]is known to have
been in Geelong in 1860.
Any information atall would be welcomed.
Best wishes to all,
Neil McDonald,
Anglesea.
