Hi Leonie,

Beach Station was around Barwon Heads and 13th Beach area.

According to Billis & Kenyon (Pastorial Pioneers of Port Phillip), William
IRONS had it from 1840-46 and John McVEAN from 1845-46.

Later, John McVEANs property was a 640 acre area about where 13th Beach is
today.

If you look at a Parish Map, you'll find it as follows ...

County of Grant
Parish of Connewarre
Section XXII (22)
640 acres
John Mac VEAN

When the Earl of Charlemont was wrecked in June 1853, reports were that the
passengers and crew killed one of his bullocks for food and were provided
with shelter and food at McVEAN's Station until help arrived from Geelong.

Regards ........... Susie Z
