Hi List
I too attended the Open Day on Geelong and I was also impressed by the
History Centre - the organisation of records/layout/number & variety of
records/helpfullness & friendleness of volunteers - just a name a few
things.
I found I can access records one hours drive from home instead of 2 hours to
the likes of Warrnambool and Hamilton.
It would be good if the History centre could open at least one Sunday a
month to cater for us working out of towners. While the centre is open
Tuesday nights, this still is hard for those who don't come from Geelong.
Listening to a couple of the volunteers, I think they would like to see it
open Sundays too. I realise though to open an extra day would take extra
resources etc
For those of you that haven't been to the Geelong Family History Centre, try
and get there.
Merron
PS I won a door prize too, so thanks for the book
