Hi
Does anyone know whether the Insolvency Court was part of the General
Sessions, Petty Sessions, Circuit Courts? I am trying to track a person who
was sentenced to 21 days in Beechworth Gaol but the record I have does not
give any personal details. I am trying to find out which court may have
handled the case. He was taken into custody 24th August 1863 at Jericho. I
guess the court case would have been this date or perhaps a week earlier?
Any help on identifying which court handled Debt or Insolvency cases would
be appreciated.
