Remember that it was illegal and that any doctor performing such a procedure
could also be prosecuted. Usually they would call it something else or
create a reason for the 'treatment'. You may have some luck looking in
newspapers for advertisements for people who offered services for "women's
problems". They would never have been obvious. Look for the ones offering
pills and potions as well. However these types of services were often word
of mouth so it may remain a mystery. However I'd be interested to hear what
you find out.
