Many thanks to all those people who responded to my request last week for info. re arrivals on the "Sir George Seymour" with "exiles"(convicts) from Tasmania. I think I may have got my wires crossed as I thought those passengers were all ex-convicts who, on receiving their ticket of leave, emigrated to other parts of Australia. It seems that the Pentonvillains had been inmates of the Pentonville prison in England, and my William SMITH , and wife Alice did not fit that category. Each of them was transported directly to Hobart after committing their "Crimes" in England and moved to Geelong around 1847 to 1849 after serving their sentences. I was just trying to establish what ship (or ships if they sailed separately) they came to Geelong on from Hobart and the exact dates.

Judy.
