HI Liz,
Are you interested in more info. on the Emond family? I also obtained a copy
of the Coles/Payne side from Rosemary Hughes and it has been very helpful in
filling in that side of the family.
Which one of the Emond's are you descended from as I have gone right back to
the late 1600's on them.
My gr-grandfather, Walter, and my gr-gr-grandfather, Robert and Joan Scott
came out on the same ship the 'Conway" with all of their family; 19
altogether on board, in 1854. Just as well the ship did not sink.
However in the same year, Robert's sister Sarah Anderson and 9 of her 11
children migrated as did their brother Thomas Emond and Mary Anderson with
their 9 children. Altogether there were 42 members of the family came out in
four different ships within twelve months 1854-1855.
My next project is to write this family up into a book so that all the
Robert Emond families can have a copy. It will be a mighty task. So any help
you can give me will be appreciated, especially if you have any photos of
your family members. Please let me know where you fit in.
There have been other people working on this family for some years too who
helped me get started. There are some working on the Anderson line and the
Thomas Emond line. My Emond file has about 4000 names on it.
I would love to find more descendants of all these families. Even have a
reunion one day perhaps !!!
I look forward to your response.
