Hello Deidre,

This already exists - most local and larger genie societies have the Geelong
Cemeteries on microfiche which includes section and plot numbers.

The information is also available from the Geelong Cemeteries Trust -
details on our research centres page at .......

http://www.zades.com.au/geelong/gdcem.htm

What a lot of people don't realise is that the Geelong Cemeteries Trust
manage a large number of cemeteries in the region, some of them very large:
Highton (Barrabool Hills), Drysdale (Bellarine), Geelong Eastern, Grovedale
(Germantown), Leopold (Kensington), Mt Duneed, Portarlington, Geelong
Western. (not sure if I missed any!)

Last December, Pam replied to a question on this list about a CD and her
reply at the time was ........

"our records are not yet available on CD as we still have issues
with our database suiting all computers and meeting the Privacy Act.
Hopefully we will have access to our records in some shape or form soon! Pam
Jennings (Geelong Cemeteries Trust)."

The Bellarine Peninsula Cemeteries (Drysdale, Leopold, Portarlington,
Newington, Lone Burials, and the still to be completed (Queenscliff / Pt
Lonsdale) are available on CD with photos, transcriptions, and burials
without headstones.

Regards ....... Susie Z
