Dear Susie
Thanks for your advice.
Last November when I visited the Geelong Family History rooms, I was told I
should have been looking in the Bellarine group's records, and that it
wasn't anything to do with them.
So I'm a bit confused here.
Joseph Shaw was in the area from at least 1839 and possibly earlier. He had
gone to Victoria via NSW, then VDL. I believe that his wife Catherine is
the Catherine Shaw whose inquest was held in 1841, and who is buried
'somewhere' in Geelong East cemetery.
I check the consolidated indexes every now and again in case anything else
turns up on this family, and have read a couple of the books on it.
Thanks again
Leonie
