Hi everyone,

I am new to the list having just found that some of my ROUT ancestors made Geelong their home.

William Thomas ROUT b. 1833 Slindon Sussex was one of 3 brothers who emigrated to NSW in the mid 1850's. He married Mary Ann HENRY 1861 in Sydney. Soon after that they appear to have moved to Geelong as all their children were born there.

Thomas Henry ROUT b. 1862 Chilwell, likely death 1885, possibly a master at Geelong College
Violet ROUT b. 1863 Chilwell d. 1867 Chilwell
Eleanor/Ellen ROUT b. 1865 Chilwell d. 1866 Chilwell
Edward ROUT b. 1868 Geelong
Charles b. 1869 Geelong d. 1884 Geelong

All burials appear to be at Geelong Western Cemetery from the index on the Geelong and District website.

Edward seems to be the only child to survive and perhaps marry, potentially to Susan HAYWARD in 1892.

I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone with connections to any of these folks. I have much more detail on the ROUT ancestors of William Thomas that I am more than willing to share.
