Thanks to everyone for your info.
How would I find out what sort of work Archibald might have been doing when he came to Geelong. He came assisted on the Bourneuf in 1852 and was assigned to a THOMAS POWELL on 70 shillings.
I don't know whether Mary worked (his wife). When she married William Rogers in Melbourne she was working as a Domestic as specified on the marriage certificate.
