Hi Liz,
I was just looking at the Directories which list William HOPKINS as a
gardener of Kensington in 1868, 1869, 1870. I wonder if the "Industrial
School" written in the register was as the result of Maude being fostered
out from the Industrial School rather than the actual occupation of her
guardian? Or was the fact that he was fostering her result in his
occupation being referred to as "Industrial School"?
Where did Maude's father die and where was Maude born? Was it in the
Geelong region or Melbourne?
