Hello
Betsy Sutherland (b1837) was first married to a Thomas Thomson in 1854
and migrated to Australia. They had a son Alexander Thompson(b1855). Her
husband drowned. She then married Alexander Armstrong (b1823) in 1859,
and had eleven more children. The second one was Jean Sutherland
Armstrong who married Rev. Alexander Stewart. Alexander Armstrong died
in 1890 at Warrambeen.

Interestingly, Alex Armstrong's first marriage was to a Barbara Thomson
(b1821) in 1851.
I believe they all came from Kildonan in Sutherlandshire, Scotland; and
surmise that they all knew each other or were inter-related before
migrating to Australia.
