Dollar is shown on this website for real estate postcode 3871
http://www.domain.com.au/public/SuburbProfile.aspx?searchTerm=Dollar&mode=buy#mapanchor

Has a map which shows it and Dollar Rd, also from satelite photo as
previously mentioned just between and slightly north of stony creek and
woorarra west.

I wonder if your family was involved in logging. I believe it was a good
area for that. There was also gold in the area around foster but cant recall
exactly when. Now there are a number of dairy farms in the area. Many of my
husbands family who farmed on the bellarine peninsula moved across to the
south gipplsland area ( not around dollar though more on the flatter lands)
and I have found there was quite a lot of people from out west who did. I
guess after travelling from uk or other places to aus the other side of vic
was not so far at all but yes it always amazes me how far people moved
around.
foster has a small museum which may be able to help you.

Also found a book in the australian library which has ref to dollar if you
can get a copy ordered through your local one.
