Thank you, Robyn and Linda, for taking the trouble to do some looking-
up for me. A website by Tony Lugton gives parents for the John McP
who married Annabella Macrae and says he died in 1869 at Mt Moriac,
but the Vic BDMs had no image or certificate available to confirm that
he was of both Duneed and Mt Moriac as this seems to imply. This could
have been a second marriage if the mother of the child lost in 1853
had died; but without more details it is guesswork.

Linda's list of the 1856 electors suggests that there were three
JMcP's around in Barrabool; I don't think the same man would be
recorded under three different numbers, would he? It's interesting
that two of the properties were leasehold and only the Duneed one was
freehold.

Robyn rightly says:

> mentioned there is no way of discriminating who is who.

Perhaps some cemetery records might show who is in a shared grave,
but, again, without certificate details this still wouldn't be much
help.

Thank you both again for your interest and contributions.

Marion
