Child went missing in 1853, according to Stewart McAdam's notes.
Stewart has an index card for John McPherson of Mt Moriac with a wife
Janet and daughters Elizabeth 1857-1923 and Janet. He has this John
buried in 1869 aged 44. He refers to a 1869 Poundkeepers Register, and
the Geelong Shipping Register, and elsewhere lists a Jane and Janet
arriving by the "Indus" from Glasgow in 1849, adding a note "may have
been the early Mt Moriac people". Re the lost child, he has added
"(Believed to have been found dead later)".
Ages don't add up properly, but it's possible that John had two
marriages. But there's still the problem Linda raised about separate
entries in the 1856 electors list.
