All background details are included on the CD. You can read the description
of each enumeration district, including the names of Enumerators, Registrars
and Superintendent Registrars.
You can search in a number of ways: As enumerated - or by surname,
alphabetically - or by fields; e.g.: Surname, Forename, Age, Occupation,
Address, Parish of birth, County of birth. You have the option to search by
exact surname or by using the Soundex method. Once you have found a family,
you can also view neighbours.

4873 Surrey Poor Law index and calendar:
This Cd contains an index of over 84,000 entries (including place names) and
a Calendar* of all known Poor Law Records for NON-Metropolitan Surrey. These
include Bastardy Bonds, Removal Orders, Settlement Certificates, Settlement
Examinations etc.
Where records for those Surrey parishes which are now part of Metropolitan
London, eg Camberwell, Clapham, Lambeth, Newington, Southwark, Streatham and
Tooting are known to exist, the Local Studies Library or London Metropolitan
Archives should be consulted.
Two important classes of parochial records have not been included. They are:
1. Accounts, which often have large numbers of Paupers' names.
2. Vestry Minutes, which are almost solely concerned with the administration
of Poor Relief.
*Calendar: a catalogue of documents that gives the essential data contained
in them and the names of all persons and places mentioned.
System requirements: Acrobat reader 4.0 for windows is required to access
these records and is included on the CD. 486 or Pentium; W95 or higher; 10MB
