I am currently researching my Great Grandparents John and Elizabeth Fregon who had property at Tongio and owned the Golden Age Hotel in Omeo from about 1875 to 1893. John Fregon was a French Canadian who on arrival in Australia in 1852 changed his name to John Fregon from Jean Frigon. I have a family tree of John Fregon going back to Paris in the 1650's. Elizabeth Fregon was Elizabeth McCoy before her marriage in 1862.

I would be interested in exchanging information and photos with anyone else out there with a connection to the Fregon family.
