Hi Ray,

You wrote about John Charles MacDougall. We don't seem to have a
connection. The closest to Bendigo I've found Dougall McDougall
is at Taradale in 1857 where his first wife Helen (Ellen)
Johns(t)on died, and most of his "found" McDougall rellies appear to
be well and truly in Gippsland by that time. He did have a son John,
aged 2 yrs. in 1857, which I have been unable to trace, but I
doubt very much if his full name was John Charles as Charles doesn't
seem to appear anywhere in the family as a family name. Thanks for
