Hello All,
Could some kind soul help a stranger and tell her what the function of a
Shire was in the mid-1800s in East Gippsland please? I suspect it was, and
still is, an administrative body.
If so, records would have been kept and I wonder if these records are
availiable for searches at all?
ps off topic -
a little bird tells me he saw a real passenger train in Bairnsdale recently.
