Lilies leaf was a thriving community beside a creek on the Old Sale Road
which runs from the South Gippsland Highway to Tarraville. Lillies Leaf
was between Pound Road East and Brewery Road. There is little evidence
today that it existed.

The doctors house was moved from Lillies Leaf to a property in Pound Road
East, which in my thinking was a remarkable exercise. It was rolled on
logs and pulled along by a bullock team to a property that was purchased by
a Mr Ernest Amos White (Ernie) who married Millie Field. It is still owned
by a member of these families. The property purchased by Mr White was a
part of the Hawthorn Bank Estate.

How do I know all this? Well, for 4 years of my life I lived in that house
(till 1952) and I have a photo of my brother and I on the front verandah (
the house burned down many years ago and was replaced with a new one by
Jack White, son of Ernie. The property was owned by my grandfather Ernie
White.

I see very little written about Lillies Leaf so it was great to see it
brought up in this forum.
