Hi to listers
my father was a pattern maker
You design and make patterns from wood then they are casted to metal
for design
if you remember the seagulls on front wire doors or the birds that went on
the front verandahs
of the houses in the 60's
well my father designed them for the company he worked for.
Hope this gives you an idea
they probably did other casts but generally they were done in wood first
