Hi List,
Benjamin BALDOCK 1833-1868 (d. Ballarat)
m.1. 1861 Mary BROWN 1829-1861 No issue.
m.2. 1867 Jane RINGLAND 1839-1877 issue: 2 dau.
First marriage at McKinnons Rush, second at Ballarat.
When Benjamin died, he left Jane with a 2yo and a newborn daughter to care for. Jane remarried to Joseph MOSS in 1874. Jane died only 3 yrs later in 1877. I wonder who cared for her young daughters, who would have only been 11 and 9yrs old?
Daughter Sabina Jane BALDOCK m. James AH KIN in 1884. Only other Ah Kin record found was of a marriage of a James Ah Kin to Marion Riely in 1872. Perhaps Sabina married a widower. If the surname Ah Kin was anglicised, any idea what it would become?
Found no marriage for Catherine. Perhaps she died or could she have taken the surname of her step-dad and married as a Moss?
Would love to hear from anyone re the above.
Cheers,
Andrea
