Hello Listers,
I recently discovered that two of my ancestors emigrated to Australia in the 19th century. They were :-
JOHN CAIL and his wife AMY WILLIAMS. JOHN was 27 years of age and arrived in Melbourne from New Zealand in 1851. Probably worked in the goldfields at Ballarat before becoming a farmer.
GEORGE HENRY CAIL was 22 years of age when he arrived in Melbourne on the vessel 'SOMERSETSHIRE' in October 1870.
I have traced the descendants of both up to about 1920 and I am wondering if there are any descendants living in the Melbourne/Ballarat/Bendigo areas or in NSW in general.
