Hi List
I wonder whether somebody can confirm some place names around the Blackwood, Victoria area for me.
My Grandfather, Joseph SHAW was born in 1875 at somewhere called "Yankee Range", the Digger-Pioneer Index says Blackwood, so I guess Yankee Range was in the vicinity, is it still there? Also a book written on his wife's side of the family (MANSELL), mentions that "Joseph and his brothers assisted their father (Richard SHAW) in his search for gold, building a huge dam an acre in extent to hold water for sluicing. That dam is still there and is called 'Shaws Lake'."
Can anyone confirm any of the above for me, please?
Many thanks
