Have had the same problem, from the same place. Have checked my computer
and am getting no virus' detected. Haven't opened any attachments from
anyone unless I get a confirmation separately that an attachment is coming
and what form it takes. I've had two today, supposedly from Ann Miles, both
with some info on them that was from emails I had sent in reply to queries
on this list. Now I do understand that the attachment isn't coming through
the list mailing, but obviously someone who is on the list is infected. I
don't want to get off the lists to which I subscribe, they are too valuable,
but I, like many others, am finding it a chore to have to be so very
cautious.
It is so easy to pick up the virus' that are doing the rounds, and
unfortunately it can take some time before people realise they are infected.
I know the 'update your detection program' has been done to death, but what
else can one do?
I think I am becoming paranoid....... Always thought it was your kids that
made you insane, not your computer.
Only one other thing to offer - the chance of losing data on your computer
is only too real, please make sure you back up your files on a regular
basis, then, at least you have some of your data safe. I don't know if I
could find it in myself to start all over again.
