Hi all,
I wonder if there is anybody who can help me with these addresses.
Christopher aged 19 arrived on the ship 'Tasmania' in 1853, from Liverpool
to Melbourne, as an Unassisted passenger. Owned land in High St Beechworth
opposite gaol.
1872 Moved to Golden Suqare Bendigo and in 1896 owned a shop in Hargreaves
St,
James ROBERTS (Christopher's brother), and Christopher's son John were
living in in McLaren St Bendigo.
Is there a way of finding the number of this place?
Christopher owned a boarding house there which is thought to have been
called 'Brightstowe'
Would this still be in existence?
Julia, Christopher's wife was listed as a confectioner and pastrycook, and
in 1902 Christopher had the 'Union Luncheon and dining Rooms', running a
large catering business in Hargreaves St.,
What number in Hargreaves Street would this be?
He also owned a house at 451 Hargreaves St., called Botallack after the mine
or suburb in Cornwall where he was a mining engineer.
is this also still in existence.
Many thanks for any help
Fran
