Hello Bill,
I've looked at the microfiche of Railway employees produced by the State
Library, last date is 1902 list, & the author has searched out as many
lists etc that he could.
Only 2 WHITTY (no WHITTA)
WHITTY Henry born 26/1/1845, appointed 7/4/1883, repairer, existing lines,
related to Ann, on 1886 listing, not on 1896 listing
WHITTY Ann Gatewoman, existing lines, related to Henry, listed 1886, not on
1896 listing
There are 15 John KELLY listings, one of them was killed on duty 12/6/1894
& was a repairer on existing lines, but the record was from an annual
report and gave no registered number. Is this Elizabeth's husband?
The KELLY listings that I think apply, have employment numbers recorded
3692 KELLY Elizabeth Ann appointed 22/1/1883 as gatekeeper, engineers,
western lines, wife of John No.3696, listed in 1884
3696 KELLY John born 1854 appointed 1/7/1882 repairer engineers branch
ewstern lines married, Elizabeth No.3692, listed in 1884
