Hi Coral,
Our John Bramley arrived in Australia on 4th April, 1820 on the
"Coromandel" as a convict. He was sentenced to seven years transportation on
th 21st July, 1819 at the York Assizes.
In 1826 John was grant his "Certificate to Freedom" 1828 Census at the age
of 31 years it was noted that "Free by Servitude" having served seven years.
At that time he was employed as a fencer by William Carter, Piercefield,
Hunter River. John was not able to read or write.
Our Bramley's lived in the Hunter Valley and New England area of New South
Wales.

Bramley was born to Richard Bramley & Dorothy Harrison 1859 in Derbyshire
,England and came to Australia with the parents & one brother in 1863.Three
other children were born in Australia - Richard John, & Thomas Henry.They
lived in the Newbridge area of Victoria.let me know if there is a
