Hi Lyn,
Not quite, Eaglehawk is now a suburb of
Bendigo, whilst Inglewood is further north
and just slightly to the west.
It is easy to understand though that people would
have moved from one field to another chasing the
illusive metal and the work that followed.
Regards
Tom H

Hi - I am new to you list & am hoping that someone might be able to help.
I have just read through an obituary for Catherine Sharkey which says that
her husband James started a blacksmith shop on the Eaglehawk goldfield
early
1860's. I have birth certificates for 3 of their children up to 1863
(when
they came to NZ) & the children where all born in Inglewood. Would this
have been part of the Eaglehawk goldfields or not.
Thanks
Lyn Bendall from Otaki NZ
