I have recently been in touch with a descendant of my James Pearce from Ballarat. She had a large Montage about 50 cms x 30 cms which she discovered when she was having another large photo repaired. It was acting as the backing for this photo. Lo and behold it had about a dozen smaller photo's on it including one of our James Pearce. Written on it was the following:
" Presented to Mr James Pearce By The Members of the Young Men's Class as a token of Esteem on the Occasion of His Leaving. Young Men's Class . Mount Pleasant Wesleyan Sabbath School. February 1878. Ballarat.
I have this copy on loan and intend to scan the individual photos and create a copy of the montage. I believe she has intentions of donating it to historical records in Ballarat in the future.
I would appreciate it if anyone has knowledge of this Young Men's Class, Mount Pleasant Wesleyan Sabbath School
Best wishes,
Dianne Black.
