I received a lovely letter just before Christmas from a gentleman from
Queensland. His grandfather, was the brother of my great grandfather. He
was in Ballarat in September and saw the flowers we had put on his mother
and father's grave. He thought it was so nice to see flowers placed on the
graves by strangers.

That is a lovely story Liana,

It certainly now gives me some hope as I, also, placed flowers and a note on
the grave of my gggrandmother at the Cue - Day Dawn Cemetery in WA when I
visited there in 2002. She died at Day Dawn in 1919 and no-one in the family
had any idea that she had even gone to the WA goldfields (from Victoria).

Maybe one day someone will also make contact with me about:

Elizabeth Jane RICHARDS
b.1837 in Breage, Cornwall.
d.1919 at Day Dawn, WA
parents:
Thomas RICHARDS + Grace GILBERT
Elizabeth married William HUDSON in 1854 at Ballarat, Victoria and had 10
children.
She then married Thomas EVANS in 1877 at Costerfield, Victoria and had one
dgtr (my ggrandmother) in 1878.

Thanks again Liana for sharing your lovely story with us.

Leone
