Hi Listers, Janet wrote: I have two postcards written from a property named

Forest, one in 1907, the other in 1908. They seen to be written by a male

My Reply: 'Shades of the Past - A history of Campbells Forest and Yarraberb'
Ray Wallace, 1993, ISBN 0 649 15286 6, 116 pages, photos, no index, has a
section on the Brown Family of Fairfield.
'The house was shifted to Yarraberb later and became Stavely, the home of
Albert (Charles) Brown.'
'Albert, who played the euphonium, and Ted the cornet, were members of of
the local brass band' Albert.... had a happy going , easy nature.... during
the depression became the greenkeeper at the Eaglehawk (Bendigo) Bowling
Club.'
There's a good photo of Albert in the band, and also in the football team.
There may be more references, but I don't have time to read the book.
There are two pages in all on the Brown family if you're interested.
Tom
