Hello folks,

Researching the family of George Owen LYON (b. 1844 St Andrews, Scotland, d
1922 Harkaway) & his wife Kate HILL (b. 1858 Merrylee Scotland, d. 1929
Melbourne).

Their first 3 children, Jessie Margaret (b. 1877), Juliet Mabel (b. 1879),
Theodora Kathleen Violet (b. 1881) were born at Ballan. The family then went
back to Scotland where Vera Helen was born. On their return the only son Charles
Hill was born in 1888 in Prahran, and the family moved to Harkaway near
Berwick.

George's brother Charles Hugh LYON had a pig farm at Ballan and overlanded to
Qld.
George's daughter Theodora married Richard Blackwood RANKEN and moved to
Ballan, though Theodora died in NSW in 1914 on a trip to Qld (?). Richard RANKEN
then married her younger sister Vera.

Has anyone come across a link between the Lyon family and a Glover family?
Two Glover boys were looked after by George Lyon in late 1904. They had come
from nearby Beaconsfield but is there a family link?
