Hi,

I am new to this list and am hoping someone can help
me. I am in desperate need of someone who can help me
with information from Australia, and possiably New
South Wales.

I am trying to prove some of my information and to get
more then I have. Some of what I am posting I am not
sure of but some of it is.

Allen G. Hamilton b. abt. 1829 in Ohio, to William
Hamilton and Hannah Babcock. Allen married Mary Ann
Huddle, b. Aug. 6, 1828, in London England, died Oct.
31, 1902, in Douglas County, Oregon. Her parents were?
George Huddle and Ophella Presteuche. Mary and
possiably her parents immigrated to Australia in
1856/57. Mary married Allen G. Hamilton Mar. 16, 1857
in Ballarat, Australia.

Allen G. Hamilton was a stage coach driver employed by
Cobb&Co. He died in June of 1868,at Frying Pan Hill,
Roxburgh, Australia, he overturned a stagecoach he was
driving. The information of his death and buriel are
supposedly in the Bathurst Times, 3 June, 1868 and 20
June 1868. He is said to be buried in the Presbyterian
Buriel Ground in Bathurst along with two children who
died in the last twelve months before Allen died. They
were removed from the ground and then placed on top of
their father coffin, and the earth closed them
together.

I know the same year he died his widow and three
orphans came to the US, she married Lafayette Jones in
1869, in San Jose Ca.

I am also trying to find out if the oldest orphan
William A. Hamilton stayed in the US or went back to
Australia, abt 1880 or later.

Anyone who can help me with census or newspaper
articles, or have a connection with this family it
would be greatly appreciated if you would get back to
me.
