Hi list

I am researching the Willett family.

Yesterday I received a birth certificate after a very long search -
the reason I couldn't find it was Willett was spelt with a single t and
mother's name down as McPeel instead of McNeil and Jabez the father is
said to have come from Berkshire not Buckinghamshire - the registrar
must have been having a bad day!

Elizabeth Willett was born 7 June 1870 at Mount Cameron, Eglinton - I
am wondering if there was an Eglinton in Victoria? I have found a Mount
Cameron near Amherst.

Her father Jabez was the informant and gives his address as Ballaarat -
the birth was not registered until 3 months later in September 1870.

I know he had a brother in Eglinton in NSW and wonder if Elizabeth
could have been born there - maybe the family was visiting at the time?
If this was the case should not her birth have been recorded in NSW?
