Hi again Melinda,
There are also references to R.S.D. Morgan in Brian Lloyd & Howeard Combes
'Gold at Gaffneys Creek' - page 171 - Departures. Next, in 1916, was R.S.D.
Morgan, the Woods Point pharmacist who took such an active role in civic and
court affairs. Morgan was born in Poitiers, France, in 1828, of Welsh and
French parents, and he was educated at the French Academy of Medicine. He
came to Woods Point in 1863.
Also page 121 - When R.S. Morgan, the Woods Point magistrate, heard the
case, he had little sympathy for the culprits, accusing them of stealing
from their mates. He inferred that they were lucky to be paid as much as
they were getting. They were sentenced to two years hard labour. Page
131 - ...but the acting coroner, R.S.D. Morgan, found that he had a case to
answer.
I'm not sure if Woods Point has a Historical Society but perhaps another
lister will help.
Cheers,
Anne.

Ralph Sholto Douglas Morgan who resided and died at Woods Point (late
1800's-1916). Can anyone tell me if there is a historical society at Woods
Point? Any information gratefully recieved.
