Hi folks,
Just a tit bit on Chiltern.
12/2/1878
Water at Chiltern
Now that the drought has broken and there seems every prospect of a
continuance of rain, the Chiltern lake is in a fair way of again being
filled.
Seeing the incalculable benefit of the lake to the inhabitants during the
scarcity of water, the Shire Council should deepen and enlarge the lake, so
that they may be prepared for any future drought. The water which overflows
the bywash instead of being allowed to run to waste as hitherto, might at a
very trifling cost be run into the baths; thus afording the inhabitants the
great advantages of a fresh and healthful bathing place, without in anyway
diminishing the waters of Lake Anderson, as the Chilternese have named it.

St Paul's Church Chiltern
IN addition to the ornamentation which is being lavished on the interior of
this handsome church, we are informed that the Hon. J.A.Wallace, M>L>C> has
presented the committee with a stone baptismal font.
