Hello to the Listers,
I wonder if there is anyone relating to this area, who would have any past knowledge of the family/s of surname OSWALD who lived in the Chiltern area in early 1900's, Father Michael Henry OSWALD, was a farm worker, or lived on a farm, where he and his family worked, (wife Alice nee SOUTHAM) and at least 2 chldren) there was a big barn fire and my Mother was very badly burned on the arms and body, trying to rescue the horses from the barn. She was aged about 10 at this time (born 1901). Was there a newspaper in the area at this time? If so, where would I be likely to find archive copies now?
I've no idea when my Grandmother died, but Michael Henry passed away on 29th March 1935, at Dover in Tasmania. I was born in Hobart 10 days earlier. TIA to anyone who replies.
I have previously posted a query for OSWALD, SOUTHAM with previous Email address of this address no longer applies. See new address below. Thanks from Leona in wintery Toowoomba
