Hello Barry, Sorry I can't help you with your query but I am
interested in the Howards of Mooroopna and wondered if they were related
to your Howards. Main person was George Macauley Howard from Canada.
It is reported that he also had a cousin and maybe a brother in
Mooroopna district. George Macauley is buried at Shepparton d 1888.

Regards,

Jeanette

Subject: Mooroopna Hotel query

Hello List members,

Could anyone give me any information about "Doyle's Hotel" in Mooroopna
Victoria in the 1880's, please?

Samuel Joseph HOWARD 1844 - 1882 was the brother of my great grandfather
John Howard. Samuel died, of Pneumonia, at Doyle's Hotel, Mooroopna,
aged 38 years, he was a Hotelkeeper/Publican and at the time of his
death held a monthly lease on the Marine Family Hotel at Sandridge (Port
Melbourne). He left a wife and 5 children and I am trying to find out
the reasons for them going to Mooroopna.

Thank you,

Regards,
Barry Howard,
Victoria, Australia.
