In reply to Dawn's query: we went along the Warburton-Woods Point road
and detoured east to Matlock, then returned to Woods Point and took the
Mansfield-Woods Point road to Jamieson, which is about halfway between
those two places. So yes, you could get to Matlock via Jamieson - or via
Walhalla if you went from Gippsland. Those old goldmining towns seem to
have roads or tracks into them from all directions.
